Our Health Guarantee

At Gulf Pet Store, we are committed to providing healthy, well-cared-for, and well-socialized dogs, kittens, and parrots. Our priority is to ensure that every pet we place meets high standards of health, temperament, and overall wellbeing. To give our customers confidence and peace of mind, we proudly offer the following Health Guarantee.

1. Health Guarantee Overview

We guarantee that all pets sold by Gulf Pet Store are in good health at the time of sale. Each animal undergoes appropriate health screening and veterinary evaluation and receives age-appropriate vaccinations or preventive care before joining their new home.

2. Health Screening and Veterinary Care

Before leaving our care, every pet receives professional veterinary attention, which may include:

  • A full physical examination by a licensed veterinarian

  • Parasite screening and preventive treatment where applicable

  • Age-appropriate vaccinations (species-specific)

  • An overall health assessment to confirm the pet shows no signs of contagious, congenital, or pre-existing medical conditions

All available health records and vaccination details are provided to the buyer at the time of purchase.

3. 72-Hour Initial Health Guarantee

We offer a 72-hour initial health guarantee from the time the pet is received. If, within this period, your pet is diagnosed with a serious or life-threatening illness or a pre-existing medical condition, you may be eligible for a replacement or refund, provided that:

  • The diagnosis is made by a licensed veterinarian

  • The condition is confirmed in writing through official veterinary documentation

  • The illness or condition was not caused by injury, neglect, mishandling, or environmental exposure after leaving our care

After the 72-hour period, Gulf Pet Store is not responsible for illnesses or conditions that develop unless proven to be genetic or congenital in nature.

4. One-Year Genetic Health Guarantee (Dogs & Cats)

For dogs and kittens, we provide a one-year genetic health guarantee covering serious hereditary or congenital conditions that significantly impact quality of life. If such a condition is diagnosed within the first year, we may, at our discretion:

  • Offer a replacement pet (subject to availability), or

  • Provide a partial refund depending on the severity of the condition

Genetic conditions may include, but are not limited to:

  • Severe hip or joint disorders affecting mobility

  • Congenital heart defects

  • Breed-related respiratory conditions

  • Hereditary eye disorders

This guarantee does not apply to conditions caused by external factors, injuries, neglect, poor diet, or failure to follow veterinary guidance.

5. Parrot Health Coverage

Parrots are covered under the 72-hour initial health guarantee only. Due to the sensitivity of birds to environmental changes, stress-related or husbandry-related illnesses after transfer are not covered unless proven to be pre-existing.

6. Exclusions – What Is Not Covered

The following are not covered under this Health Guarantee:

  • Injuries occurring after the pet leaves our care

  • Illnesses caused by poor hygiene, neglect, improper housing, or unsuitable environments

  • Conditions resulting from improper diet, lack of veterinary care, or missed vaccinations

  • Stress-related conditions after relocation

  • Behavioral issues, which are influenced by environment, training, and owner interaction

7. Buyer Responsibilities

To maintain the validity of this Health Guarantee, buyers agree to:

  • Schedule a veterinary check-up within 7 days of receiving the pet

  • Follow recommended vaccination and preventive care schedules

  • Provide proper nutrition, clean water, exercise, and enrichment

  • Maintain a safe, clean, and stress-free living environment

Failure to meet these responsibilities may void the Health Guarantee.

8. If a Health Issue Arises

If you believe your pet has developed a condition covered under this guarantee:

  1. Contact Gulf Pet Store immediately

  2. Obtain a written diagnosis from a licensed veterinarian

  3. Submit all veterinary reports, medical records, and proof of purchase for review

  4. Allow our team to assess the case and determine the appropriate resolution

9. Terms of Agreement

This Health Guarantee applies only to the original purchaser and is non-transferable. By purchasing a pet from Gulf Pet Store, you acknowledge and accept the terms outlined above.

The guarantee becomes void if the pet is neglected, abused, improperly rehomed, or kept in unsuitable conditions.

10. Disclaimer

While we take every reasonable precaution to ensure the health of our pets, some conditions may arise due to genetic variability, stress, or environmental factors beyond our control. This Health Guarantee reflects our commitment to ethical practices, transparency, and responsible pet ownership.
